Day 81

January 20th, 2019: Sexual Victims Endure A Lot But It’s Invisible

Imagine not being able to go to a place, a place you used to love, a place that gave you joy simply because it is tied to someone that sexually assaulted you. Imagine feeling physically sick because someone, a stranger, someone you do not know, have never met, ever, just happens to put on the same cologne as the one an attacker wore. Imagine not being able to stand a certain nickname you used to adore because of the memories the nickname evokes. Many, millions of people experience that daily and you can’t see it. It’s great that #MeToo happened but we have to do more, a lot more. #MyBlackOutPoems @centreforarttapes
