February 11th, 2019: The Misgendering Was Careless

I’ve been guilty of this and I will do better. It’s simple, listen to the pronouns people around you use when referring to the person or just ask them what pronouns they prefer. Yes, you might make a mistake but correct yourself right away. No you don’t have to understand it. No, it doesn’t have to make sense to you. No, you don’t need them to explain why they want to use that pronoun. Once they say they want to be referred to in a certain way, use it. Simple. #MyBlackOutPoems @centreforarttapes
